Is the Amazon credit card worth it as a first card?
Main Post:
I am looking to get my first credit card. I am 23 and have survived perfectly fine but wanted to build some credit aside from paying on my student loans.
I have looked into a handful of cards and am leaning towards the Discover card or Amazon card. I have an Amazon prime account already.
I use Amazon fairly regularly but I can’t tell if the Amazon card would restrict me too much or if it would fit me. I will take any other advice on different credit cards though.
Top Comment: Secured Credit Card. Made for building credit.
Is the Amazon Prime credit card Worth it?
Main Post:
They currently have a $200 Gift card promo going on right now just for getting approved it looks like. The arrival of the gc seems instant. I probably won’t have prime too much longer so is the card even worth it? I only want it for it’s promo honestly and wouldn’t ever use it.
UPDATE: ... I did it :D got the $200 bonus instantly

If you don't have prime it is not worth it, If you do have prime It's probably worth it when you consider the additional discounts and what not that you receive receive for having the card.
Another good option Is the affinity federal credit Union cash rewards card, it gives 5% back at Amazon and has rotating categories which stack with baseline rewards, So if Amazon is one of the rotating categories then you get 10% back at Amazon
Has anyone had a positive experience with the Amazon Prime Rewards card?
Main Post:
I'm thinking of getting the Amazon Prime Rewards Visa Signature Card. My credit score is in the low 700s and I already have an Amazon membership. I pay off my cards every month but only have a couple of years of credit history.
Worries due to the following comments on the Amazon website reviews:
"Predatory interest rate," which I usually ignore bc I never let mine acrue any interest, but this one said that they charged interest beginning the day it was purchased rather than at the end of the period. And that if it wasn't paid in whole the entire amount accrued interest including parts already paid off. Random cancellations after already receiving the card... wish I could post screenshots there were a lot of crazy accusations against chase and I've never banked with them before.
Update: I got approved and look forward to enjoying the benefits this upcoming semester!
Top Comment: Positive experience? Yeah, 5% on every Amazon purchase is pretty positive to me.
Is the amazon Credit card worth it?

So ive been considering the Amazon CC since i do so many purchases in a year on amazon. Do any of you have / use it? I currently have Amex gold, Amex Blue cash, Amex adelta and Chase reserve. Is it worth it if you spend around 5-10k a year on amazon?
Top Comment: If you’ve already had Prime, you should get it, it's 5% at Amazon and Whole Foods.
Thoughts on the Amazon credit card
Main Post:
I have three already I was just wondering what y’all think , I was already approved for it I just want some other opinions
Top Comment: It you are an Amazon Prime member, and pay for prime, and you do not intend to cancel your prime account any time soon. The Amazon Prime Credit card is an absolute no brainer, it's essentially a no annual fee card that earns 5% back on Amazon.
Does the amazon credit card normally give such huge limits?
Main Post:
Ive been waiting for black Fridays to apply for the amazon prime CC for the elevated sub and was really surprised to receive a HUGE (relative to me) credit limit in 10600. Honestly surprised as id probably be considered lower income with a annual income of 45000 and literally non of my credit cards even come close to this with the second biggest being from BoA on a CCR at 7000 but its my main bank that i have CC, investments, and bank accounts with for a couple years now. My credit history is also relatively low like not even 3 years.
Top Comment: Chase has always been my biggest lender. My Amazon card has a 15k, chase freedom is 25, CSR is another 25. My next highest is a Discover I've had since I was 18 and it's at 10. I also have no other major relationship with Chase, no investments or other banking. The only other thing I've had through them is an auto loan on a Subaru for about 33.
If I get the Amazon Credit Card and never use it, will that be an issue?
Main Post:
This is probably a pretty stupid question. I've never had a store card before.
Basically, Amazon is offering the card and a free gift card. Sick, I want the gift card, but I have no real reason to use the credit card. If I get the card (and the gift card) and never use the credit card, will it come back to haunt me? Is there some clause that could cause issues? Will me credit score tank?
Again. Stupid question, i know. I'm just a nervous person i guess. Thank you
Top Comment: if you never use the card, the CC company will eventually shut the card down for inactivity. This usually takes a few years.
LPT - Never use Amazon credit card points to make purchases
Main Post:
Always redeem Amazon points for cash or statement credit.
At checkout on Amazon, you have the ability to apply your points to your purchase, lowering your purchase total. When you do this, you miss out on earning additional points on your purchase.
A $100 purchase at 5% back gives you 500 points, or $5. If you apply your points to that same transaction (let's pretend $50 worth of points) your new total is $50, but that total will only earn you 250 points, or $2.50.
Always take the cash and then use the cash to pay your credit card bill.
Top Comment: How do you get cash for amazon credit card points? I've never seen a way to do this...
Amazon credit card
Main Post:
Does anyone have experience with the Amazon credit card? Is it any good, I'm looking for a second card more in line with my day to day life, my 1st card just basically collects dust but I've had it for so long I don't want to cancel it. All it does it get me travel points which I never use. I want a new cars to get me cash back or discounts on purchases. I use Amazon a lot so that's why I'm thinking about this card.
Top Comment: The problem I have with the card is that it is only good at buying things off of Amazon if you have prime. So you have to pay the $100 per year subscription just to get any benefit from the card. Plus you need to be smart about what you buy from Amazon to get any real savings. A lot of things are either more expensive than if you went in store or is available on Aliexpress for a third of the price. You probably would be better off getting something like the tangerine moneyback credit card where you can pick 3 categories to get 2% cashback on.
Amazon Prime card approval
Main Post:
Just got approved for Amazon prime card. $24,000 credit limit, $150 dollar Amazon gift card sign up bonus.
23 YO 730 Credit score $80,000/year income
$63,500 total credit limit of all combined cards before Prime card application
Seems like a decent card if you shop on Amazon. 5% back when shopping on Amazon with $0 annual fee.
Top Comment: I've had this card for a long while. I think its an easy card to get and its my largest LOC. I also like that there's no minimum to withdraw the cash back. But man my Amazon purchases have tanked the last 6 months. Its just so full of junk nowadays and the prices usually aren't much better, if atall, than other online merchants. At some point I'm probably gonna drop the Prime membership and just downgradet to the standard card.
amazon prime visa worth it?

I use amazon.com regularly for shopping. I saw that amazon cards have good opportunities like discounts, instalment etc.
Is it worth getting an amazon credit card?
Top Comment: Do you consider getting 5% off every Amazon purchase worth it.
